A Learning Community that Empowers Students to Achieve their Academic and Life Potential.

Aidan, 7th Grade

“Describe yourself in three words.”

Athletic, Humorous, and Confident.

“What kinds of extracurricular activities do you do and why?”

I play football, basketball, and swimming for my extracurricular activities.  I also enjoyed the Chess Club.

“What opportunities has your school given you that you would not have had otherwise? (This could be an achievement, a performance you gave, an activity in which you participated, etc)”

Being in the Middle School band means I have learned how to play the trumpet, read music and perform in front of people.  I’ve also made friends from all over the world instead of just in my own hometown.  Learning about other cultures from my friends is really interesting and makes me want to go to new places.

“If you could change one thing about being a student at your school, what would it be?”

I would love to learn different languages.  At the moment I learn Mandarin, but it would be great if we had French.

“Describe your school in three words”

Big, Friendly, Fun

“Tell us about your online learning experience. Did you face any challenges?”

My online learning experience has been different but not too difficult. I enjoyed learning from home for the most part.  I missed my friends but we still were able to see each other and have some fun times online. Probably the biggest challenge would have been learning my trumpet without my band teacher right there with me. I found this difficult because it is not just learning something from a textbook like math or science; you are learning to play a new instrument.

“What do you hope to do when you finish school?”

I’m not sure what I want to do when I finish school yet because it still seems so far off.  I do believe that I can be successful in my career whatever it may be, and live a happy life!

“What lessons did you learn in 2020?”

Something I learned in 2020 is that you don’t know what you’ve got until it’s gone.  Living through COVID-19 has been difficult because we haven’t really been able to do anything, go anywhere or see anyone.  I have also learned that I can have a lot of fun with my family.
