To ensure we meet the nutritional needs of our students, we provide them with healthy, freshly prepared snack and meal options throughout the day in our inviting, open-air cafeteria. Our school chef, Chef Sara, and her dedicated 10 person-team, focus their efforts on providing fresh, nutritious, well-balanced, local and international meal options for every taste and dietary restriction. To best serve our culturally diverse student body, we offer a variety of enticing options – including multiple hot meal selections as well as an assortment of fruits, vegetables and salads. In providing varied healthy meals and snacks, we encourage students to become more independent and make responsible food choices, as well as meeting their nutritional needs.
During snack and mealtimes in our cafeteria, students are able to relax and enjoy their meals restaurant-style, in a bright space with fresh air and a beautiful view of the surrounding area. Meals are served on ceramic plates with silver cutlery, to minimize our impact on the environment, as well as to provide students with a higher-level dining experience. Our spacious, professional kitchen was designed to ensure enough area and equipment to prepare fresh, halal meals for our growing student body which includes both day and boarding students. Day students are provided with two daily snacks and a full lunch; while boarding students are provided three daily meals, and two snacks, seven days a week.
Meet our School Chef
Our school chef, Chef Sara, came to RAS with over 20 years of experience in the gourmet food and beverage industry. Throughout her long career, she has created menus and fine dining experiences in hotel-based restaurants and developed menus for international restaurant chains. Chef Sara is known for her high standards, both in the food she serves and the kitchens she manages. At RAS, she designs weekly menus and ensures that we serve fresh meals, prepared daily, with properly selected ingredients, free from harmful chemicals, antibiotics and pesticides, from an early morning breakfast to the boarding dinner each night. Chef Sara also caters many internal RAS events and prepares food for our Parent Cafe.
