Rochelle Lowe is a New Zealander and holds a Bachelor of Primary Education and is at present working towards her Masters of Education. Rochelle has been working in the education field for over a decade. Fostering great relationships with students and adults is a key part of her teaching philosophy along with creating a student centered environment, where all students can thrive. At her previous school she was a homeroom teacher for Year 7 and 8 students. She was able to lead sports teams and be involved in the school musicals, which is a passion of hers. Rochelle believes her biggest accomplishment was setting up a beach education program for her year 7 cohort of approximately 300 students. This would be run annually and is still continuing today! In 2018 she moved into a leadership role collaborating closely with teachers as well as supporting new beginning teachers as their mentor.

While Rochelle loved living and working in her hometown she was looking for a new challenge. In 2020, Rochelle moved to Cairo, Egypt to teach at the American International School (AIS) as a 5th Grade teacher. This allowed her to continue to teach and also follow her travel dreams. In her second year in Egypt Rochelle moved into a learning support specialist role as well as taking on a curriculum leadership position with 5th Grade. Working in learning support is a passion for Rochelle as she loves working with students who need that one to one support and extra guidance. She continued working closely with both 4th and 5th Grade students and teachers in her final year at AIS both as a leader and as a learning support specialist.

Rochelle enjoys working with students both in and out of the classroom. One of the highlights from last year was organizing a 5th Grade leadership field trip where students enjoyed the opportunity to challenge themselves both mentally and physically.
