Eric Thornton is excited to join Raffles as a Secondary Social Studies teacher. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in History from Catawba College (USA), and a Master’s degree in Education from Concordia University (USA). In addition, Eric has taken graduate courses in Economics for teachers from the University of Colorado, and he holds a teaching license in Social Studies from South Carolina (USA). Eric has ten years of teaching experience, and he began his career teaching middle level Social Studies in the United States. Eric has worked internationally in China for six years, including two years in Ningbo and four years in Shenzhen. He has taught a variety of subjects including AP Economics, AP United States History, Sociology, and others. Eric likes helping students reach their full potential, and he takes satisfaction when his students are successful. Outside of the classroom, Eric enjoys traveling, reading, and exercising. Eric was even a member of the Men’s swim team at Catawba College, and he still enjoys swimming from time to time.
