Mrs. Brown received her Bachelor of Arts from Belhaven University with a major in English and History. She is a twenty-nine year veteran who teaches Secondary English. She has served as Team Leader in the majority of schools she has taught in as well as serving as Head of Department in the United Arab Emirates. Mrs. Brown is certified via the State of Texas in English, Speech, Special Education and ESL;she has also earned her TEFL in Mexico. Mrs. Brown has taught in the United States, the United Arab Emirates, Kazakhstan, Sudan and Malaysia. She is currently undertaking studying for the Google Certification Level 2.

Mrs. Brown believes that all students can learn and strives to build confidence in the student’s ability to perform well in class. She believes in meeting the student where they are and progressing from there in order for the student to be successful in English class. Some activities we have completed in the class are creating a quilt for a lesson on symbols, creating podcasts for literature we have read, and creating Google websites for literature we have read in class.
