Joseph Kim is a Korean-American who was born in Korea but has lived in multiple countries since he was young including Canada, the United Kingdom, Indonesia, Malaysia, and the United States of America. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Music and Education and a Master’s degree in Special Education from Nyack College in New York. He continues to pursue his Master’s in Music Education at the Columbia University’s Teachers College in New York City.

For the past several years, Joseph has worked in the public school system near New York City where he has taught band, marching band, and drumline while directing theatrical musicals. His school’s marching band placed in the top 10 in New York State with multiple first-place awards in local competitions both years he was involved. The drumline has won multiple first and second places in local competitions and also had a top 10 finish in the state competitions.

In his spare time, Joseph enjoys coaching, playing, and watching soccer. He is a huge Manchester United fan. He met his beautiful wife at an American School in Penang, Malaysia when they were middle school students. They were married in 2014 and have a three-year-old son and a 4-month-old daughter.
