Andy Manion is joining the Raffles American School Physical Education team after spending the past 3 years at the Australian International School in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Andy is Australian, originally from Tasmania, but he also lived on the Gold Coast in Queensland for quite some time.

Andy has a Bachelor of Education with a Double Major in Physical Education, which he has taught for just over 35 years. He has been Head of PE Departments in schools both in Tasmania and Queensland for over 25 years and was also Director of Sport at a large P-12 school on the Gold Coast for 9 years.

Andy received an Australian ‘National Excellence in Teaching Award’ in 1997 and was also awarded Life Membership of the Regional Sports Body ‘School Sport South Coast’ in 2015.

Andy enjoys participating in many active pursuits including cricket, golf, SCUBA diving, motorcycle touring, surfing, cycling, camping, and gym.

Andy believes that enjoyable active participation is the key to achieving personal, social, and physical development and is looking forward to bringing all of his experience and enthusiasm for all things active when he teaches students in Elementary and Middle School PE classes at Raffles American School.
