JOB DESCRIPTION

Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Head of Preschool to start and lead our Reggio-inspired preschool program (18-36 months). The ideal candidate will teach class, oversee daily operations, foster a nurturing social and learning environment, and uphold our Mission to provide high-quality early childhood education where all children can achieve their full potential. With a focus on collaboration, leadership, and community engagement, the Head of Preschool will ensure a safe, enriching, and culturally diverse learning environment for young children, staff, and families.

Key Responsibilities

  •     Oversee daily operations of the preschool, ensuring compliance with state and local regulations, including licensing requirements.
  •     Develop, implement, and teach an age-appropriate, Reggio-inspired curriculum that promotes social, emotional, and cognitive development in alignment with international educational standards.
  •     Hire, train, and supervise teaching staff, fostering professional development and maintaining appropriate teacher-to-student ratios.
  •     Collaborate with fellow teachers, counselors, parents, and the leadership team to build a supportive community that reflects the Raffles American School General Learning Outcomes and Mission.
  •     Manage budgets and resources to support program goals and facility maintenance.
  •     Maintain open communication with parents through meetings, newsletters, and regular updates on student progress and school activities.
  •     Ensure a safe, clean, and organized environment, including scheduling CPR and First Aid training for staff.
  •     Promote cultural inclusivity, leveraging the diverse backgrounds of students and families to enrich the preschool experience.
  •     Handle enrollment processes, community outreach, and marketing efforts to maintain and grow student numbers.
  • Address concerns from parents, staff, or students promptly, using strong problem-solving and interpersonal skills.

QUALIFICATIONS

Qualifications 

  •     Kursus Asuhan PERMATA Certificate is mandatory.  
  •     Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  •     Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in early childhood education, with at least 2 years in a leadership or administrative role.
  •     Strong knowledge of child development and best practices in early childhood education.
  •     Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  •     Ability to work with diverse populations and foster an inclusive environment.
  •     No criminal record or child-related offenses; must pass a background check.
  •     Preferred: Appropriate credential or equivalent certification, depending on regulations
  •     CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
  •     Covid Vaccination Certificate mandatory
  •     Typhoid Vaccination Certificate mandatory
  • Native English-speaking

  •     Fast-paced, dynamic environment requiring flexibility and a passion for early childhood education.

Reporting Structure

Reports to the Superintendent and Elementary School Principal
