Position Overview:
Raffles American School is seeking a passionate and dynamic Bahasa Melayu Teacher to join our Elementary School team. The ideal candidate will deliver engaging and age-appropriate language instruction, foster a love for learning Bahasa Melayu, and contribute positively to our multicultural school community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality, student-centered instruction in Bahasa Melayu to elementary students from diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds.
- Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with the school’s World Language curriculum and learning standards.
- Use a variety of instructional strategies and resources to support language acquisition, including storytelling, music, games, and technology.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of students with varying language proficiency levels.
- Assess and report on student progress regularly, providing timely feedback to students and parents.
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages participation, creativity, and cultural appreciation.
- Collaborate with colleagues in planning interdisciplinary units and school events.
- Participate actively in professional learning communities, school events festivals, and co-curricalar activities.
- Uphold Raffles American School’s mission, vision, and General Learning Outcomes in all teaching and community engagement areas.
