Teacher Feature

My name is Mr James, and I am originally from the United States, but I have spent the past 10 years living and working overseas. I am currently teaching PE and serving as the Assistant Athletic Director at Raffles American School. Before coming to RAS, I was living in Vietnam, and I previously spent five years living in Malaysia. I am excited to be part of the Raffles American School community and have really enjoyed my first few weeks getting to know the students, especially through my time in boarding. I am looking forward to getting to know even more of our students throughout the year and helping create fun, active, and memorable experiences for them. Whether it is through PE, athletics, boarding, or school activities, I enjoy finding ways to get students involved, challenge themselves, and most importantly, have fun along the way. I also spent a year in boarding myself when I was growing up, so I understand how special that experience can be. Some of the friendships and memories I made during that year have lasted a lifetime, and I hope to help create some of those same experiences for our students at Raffles.
