Michelle grew up in Ohio, USA. She attended Cornell University in New York state, where she obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in archaeology. She attended Koobi Fora Field School in the Lake Turkana region of northern Kenya. She completed her post-baccalaureate study in education at Old Dominion University in Virginia, USA, resulting in a professional teaching license in Special Education for the Commonwealth of Virginia. Michelle was a Special Education teacher assistant for three years and a Special Education teacher for six years in Virginia. She developed a passion for Special Education, helping students find academic success by focusing on individual student strengths, interests, and needs.. More recently, Michelle earned a TESOL certificate from Chichester College in Bangkok, Thailand. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, kayaking, and traveling.
