Joseph Quzinell Davis is excited to be the new Grade 2 Homeroom Teacher! He comes to Raffles American School after teaching at an International Baccalaureate (IB) School in Taiwan as a PYP teacher. Before teaching in Taiwan he was teaching in Poland as an ESL tutor for students aged 3 to 67. His first experience teaching comes from his six years of living in South Korea. While in South Korea he finished his Master’s Degree in Operational Management to supplement his Bachelor’s Degree in Social Science. Joseph also has a teaching license from the Illinois State Board of Education, a CTESOL Level 1 certification, and a SEL certification. Joseph’s most recent professional accomplishment is being one of four teachers that majorly contributed to the IB accreditation success of Juntou International School in Puli Township, Taiwan for the starting school year of 2023. Aside from his professional life, Joseph is also a foodie who loves discovering new culinary treasures. Being from a southern state in the USA that is known nationally for ‘soul food,’ Joseph enjoys the social bonds and special memories that foods and drinks provide. One of his favorite quotes: “Prejudice is a burden that confuses the past, threatens the future, and renders the present inaccessible” (Maya Angelou).
