Welcome to our family.... your home away from home!

Welcome from the Director of Boarding and Deputy Director of Boarding

From the Director of Boarding

Dear Parents,

We have approximately 70 students and their families joining us this term, so I would like to say welcome to our Boarding House @RAS.
There is nothing like easing yourself into a new year! We have hit the ground running and there is already so much going on in and around the Boarding House with several events on the near horizon. House Parents (RA’s) and students are getting to know each other, building relationships, creating agreements, planning activities, planning schedules, and so on. As we start a new school year there are always changes and challenges and we embrace these with confidence and hope that we will succeed in our aim to enhance every student’s stay at our Boarding House.
At times, in a dynamic and aspiring community, it is easy to forget to take the time to consider our own well-being and mental health. Be mindful of opportunities to step out of the fast-flowing current for a while and be still or concentrate on other things. Many people go above and beyond to provide opportunities beyond the classroom for our boarding community.
The 2024/25 school year is going to be great

Mr. Herman Kruger

Orientation Weekend!

Effective time management is crucial for academic success, especially in the boarding environment where distractions may abound. To optimize study time, start by creating a realistic schedule that includes designated study periods, breaks, and extracurricular activities. Prioritize tasks based on urgency and importance, allocating more time to challenging subjects while ensuring a balanced workload.

Eliminate distractions by finding a quiet, comfortable study space free from interruptions. Break larger tasks into smaller, manageable chunks, setting achievable goals to maintain motivation. Utilize tools such as planners or apps to track progress and stay organized. Remember to incorporate self-care activities into your routine to prevent burnout and maintain focus.
