Dear Students, Parents, and Guardians
Welcome to the Raffles Boarding Program my wife, Natalie, and I are very excited to welcome you into our boarding program.
Over the past 12 years, I have been involved in the management of boarding programs in South Africa, England, Vietnam, and China. As a professional in this field, I see boarding as both my calling and my passion. From my diverse international experience, as well as my time here at RAS, I can assure you, that at RAS boarding, your child’s care is our main priority.
The RAS Boarding Program will challenge your child to succeed and reach their full potential in all aspects of their life. It is designed in a way that will allow your child to leave school ready to face the obstacles and challenges of university, college, and professional life. Through our dedicated boarding team, we offer your child the opportunity to excel both academically and socially. Our carefully structured boarding program includes both regular academic study sessions and a wide-variety extra-curricular clubs and sports to ignite the passion within your child. Additionally, students develop real world skills in the boarding house on a continuous basis. My main aim is to ensure that your child is exposed to a rich and vibrant environment that will allow them to become a holistic learner and global citizen.
The RAS Boarding Program is a “home away from home,” and it is critical your child enjoys their experience in the boarding house. A happy child is a child that wants to learn, succeed and consistently challenge themselves. My goal is to create a setting that will allow your child to be happy and enjoy their time at the school, while learning the values and ethos that will ultimately help them succeed outside of school.
Most importantly, the boarding house is a safe and nurturing environment. It will allow your family to be at peace, knowing that a team of dedicated staff have your child’s best interests, safety, and development at heart. As the Boarding Director, I have an “open door” policy and encourage parents to have an active involvement in the boarding house. I would like to leave you with a quote that has inspired me in my career and molded my approach towards young adults:
“Every child has a different learning style and pace. Each child is unique, not only capable of learning but also capable of succeeding.”
