The “ Seal of Biliteracy” is an award given by a school in recognition of a student that attained proficiency in two languages. The Seal of Biliteracy takes the form of a seal that appears on the transcripts and or diploma of the graduating senior and is a statement of accomplishment for future employers and for college admissions.
The Bilingual Schools “Seal of Biliteracy” will be awarded to those students that have completed all the necessary credit requirements for graduation. In addition to the obtaining all the necessary credits for graduation the following stipulations will be used to determine qualification for the “Seal of Biliteracy”
- Completion of all requirements and credits to receive a RAS high school Diploma.
- Completion of all English Language Arts requirements with an average of 2.0
- Passing of the AP Mandarin examination.
- Passing of the WIDA Language assessment.
