Middle School Boys Football

High School Boys Football (Varsity and Junior Varsity)

Description: Boys Varsity Football are for those athletes who are dedicated and passionate about playing football at a high level and are able to maintain a balance between academics and practice. Varsity Football requires a try-out process in order to be chosen for the team. Those who do not make varsity, will be play for our junior varsity team. All practice sessions must be attended. One cannot choose to attend on Monday’s and sign up for another activity on Wed.

Women’s Football

Swim Team (Aqua Raptors)

Supervisor: Mr. Ben Regan

Description: The Aqua Raptors swim team is for students that can demonstrate proper form for all four strokes (freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke and butterfly) and are interested in swimming competitions. Swim Team is open to students 6th – 12th grade, and all swimming speeds are welcome. Aqua Raptors swimmers are expected to attend practice at least 2 days a week.

Description: Varsity tennis is for those athletes who have experience playing tennis and are interested in challenging themselves to up their game in order to compete with other schools and represent RAS athletics.

World Scholars Cup

Supervisor: Ms. Carrie Aralis and Ms. Syida Mohd Suadi

Description: The World Scholar’s Cup has grown significantly in recent years to become an international event with more than 15,000 students participating across 50 countries. The event is an inclusive enrichment experience in which students of all backgrounds work together to explore new subjects and practise new skills. Students will participate in Team Debates, Collaborative Writing, Scholar’s Bowl and Scholar’s Challenge.

Coding and Robotics

Description: This is a complete curriculum, allowing the students to build projects such as mobile apps, computer games, robots, IoT, and 3D structure. Students turn their ideas into prototypes to solve real-life challenges using Design Thinking methodology.

Interact

Description:The Interact club is dedicated to helping better our local and global society by holding fundraisers to send money to charities in the area and around the world. We will also be volunteering for local charities and organisations. Students will be able to interact with their community and take action to start making the world a better place.

Wushu

Supervisor: Zen Wushu Academy

Description:Wushu, which is also referred to as Kung-Fu, is the collective term for the martial art practices that originated and developed in China, and Wushu is the wellspring of all Asian martial practices. Over its long history, Wushu has developed into numerous distinct styles and systems, each incorporating their own techniques, tactics, principles and methods, as well as the use of a wide variety of traditional weaponry. The differing styles that have emerged focus on many aspects of combat, but more importantly they have absorbed the popular philosophies and moral practices of the people in China over the past 5000 years of development. With that, Wushu has developed into more than just a simple system of attack and defense and has become a way to cultivate the body, mind, and spirit in a positive way that is beneficial to all that practice it.

Description: In this video journalism CCA, students will scout news stories, script, film, and edit for a weekly broadcast that will be shown throughout the school. All HS students are welcome, but there will be an audition for anchors and production crew/editing.

MUN (Model United Nations)

Supervisor: Mr. Matt Tilford & Mr. Steven Jenkins

Description:MUN, also known as Model United Nations, is an extra-curricular activity where students role play delegates to the United Nations and simulate UN committees. MUN conferences typically take place on university campuses and are the culmination of speech writing and planning. Public speaking and debate are also a large part of the simulations.

Beginner Tennis

Supervisor: Mr. Foong

Description:Beginner Tennis is for students with little to no experience playing tennis. Tennis is a great sport for young athletes that will help improve endurance, agility, coordination, power and overall athletic skills. With continued practice, tennis is one of the few sports that someone can practice throughout the majority of their lives to stay fit.
** This class will only be 75 minutes opposed to the usual 90 minutes.

Brazilian Jiu Jitsu

Supervisor: GFTeam Johor Bahru

Description: Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is a grappling-based martial art using takedowns, leverage, and joint manipulations where participants execute practical techniques to intelligently overcome aggressive opponents; focus on discipline, self-defense and personal development. Participants must wear the Gi (uniform & belt) to learn the basics, which will be provided at a cost. Children are taught the fundamentals of BJJ and introduction to BJJ competition.
* Returning students from last year will have priority in registration.

Description: MoneyTree educates kids on the concepts of Financial Literacy and Entrepreneurship. Main focus is on

This club will empower students to improve tech skills while also trying new apps and websites which RAS may use in the near future. Students should be willing to try new things, enjoy learning and creating within a group as well as helping others with new technology skills that you learn. This is not a coding club.

Description: Taekwondo is a total learning activity. Lessons are tailored to your child’s age and skill level. Child begins by practicing basic patterns and forms, board breaking, kicking, blocking, striking, and punching. These fundamental skills increase child’s physical coordination, flexibility, balance, and mental acumen. Taekwondo develops child’s athletic abilities and self-awareness, and improves the child’s capabilities in self-defense.
